Welcome to Conflict Management Services of Bryn Mawr College. We are a diverse community of women governed by a social Honor Code. We expect community members to take the initiative to address their interpersonal conflicts. Our goal is to transform conflict from a dreaded chore into an opportunity for personal and communal growth. All of this is much easier said than done. Conflict Management Services is available to help.
We offer a range of services to assist you in working through conflicts you may experience as a student in the Bryn Mawr community. We can help you with confrontation, communication skills and difficult conversations. Whether you seek to address your conflict individually, or you would like outside assistance, we can help.
Even if you're not sure what kind of help you might need (or whether you need help at all!), we are prepared to guide you through the conflict experience. We encourage you to become actively involved early in your conflict, as things tend to become more complicated as time passes. Conflict is an unavoidable component of community living, but we can help you develop your skills so that you can interact more effectively.

"I didn't think mediation would help, but it did."
"The dialogue itself was very well-run and helpful. I only wish it would have happened much sooner."
"Although my problem with my roommates is something larger than I believe any sort of mediation could fully fix or help - the mediation session was very helpful in being able to fully express my emotions in a neutral, non threatening setting. My mediators were kind, patient and helped us realize the different points of view within our argument. I would definitely recommend mediation; even though it seems as if it wont help; even if it doesn't fully fix a situation - it's important to have a resource on campus that can offer neutrality and order. Overall I was very impressed with my peer mediators."
