CMS Overview

In keeping with the Bryn Mawr College Honor Code, it is the expectation of the community that members in conflict with each other will seek resolution among themselves. There are a number of services that the College provides to assist students with this process. ARGH! is a way for students to meet one-on-one with a trained student conflict coach to discuss their problems and possible solutions. Mediation and Facilitated Dialogue offer an opportunity for students to work together, with the guidance of conflict coaches, to gain a better understanding of each other’s concerns and the options available to resolve their differences. Counselors, Deans, Customs People, Hall Advisers and Residential Life Staff are also resources for students in conflict.

Living with others in a community can be a challenge. The added expectations of the Honor Code can make life difficult, especially for those who are fairly new to the BMC system. During your time at Bryn Mawr, you will experience a range of conflicts with those around you. In turn, we have a range of resources that can help you at any step of the way. Whether you are in the early stages of a conflict, or it has developed over time, you are encouraged to seek assistance when you are frustrated.

Whether or not you know for sure which service you might use, contact CMS via our online request form, or give the CMS Coordinator a call at x7333. We will be happy to talk with you and work with your issue.
