Angie Sheets, Director of Residential Life
Carolyn Lloyd, Assistant Director of Residential Life
Although the Residential Life staff deals primarily with conflict associated with roommate issues, we can help with any type of conflict you might have. We are experienced in assisting both individuals and groups of students. It is possible for a Res Life staff member to come to your dorm and work with a group of students. We've even worked with whole customs groups, halls and dorms. Generally, our staff is available from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, but we can make additional arrangements depending on your needs and our availability.
When you meet with Res Life staff, you can talk about any problems you may be having in a confidential setting. We can help you work through your issues and come up with possible strategies for addressing the problem. We can also work with you to schedule Mediation, Facilitated Dialogue, or an appointment with a Counselor or Dean.
If your time is limited, you should call the Office of Residential Life and make an appointment to speak with someone. We are also available for walk-in meetings most days. Feel free to call us at x7331 or email us at reslife@brynmawr.edu.

"I didn't think mediation would help, but it did."
"The dialogue itself was very well-run and helpful. I only wish it would have happened much sooner."
"Although my problem with my roommates is something larger than I believe any sort of mediation could fully fix or help - the mediation session was very helpful in being able to fully express my emotions in a neutral, non threatening setting. My mediators were kind, patient and helped us realize the different points of view within our argument. I would definitely recommend mediation; even though it seems as if it wont help; even if it doesn't fully fix a situation - it's important to have a resource on campus that can offer neutrality and order. Overall I was very impressed with my peer mediators."
