La Salle University Art Museum

The La Salle University Art Museum possesses a moderate collection of African Art. The majority of the collection is comprised of masks and gold weights, as well as a few other implements. The pieces are primarily from Western Africa including such societies as the Dan Guere, Ashbenti, Zofont, Guro, Yoruba, and Ogoni. Baula, Shona, and Zimba. There are over 150 pieces that comprise the entirety of the Museum's African Collection. Roughly 120 pieces are Akan gold weights while the other 30 pieces are masks and sculptures.
