What do the students to on an excavation?

Look, learn, and get trained in various parts of excavation.

What is your favorite part of excavation?

I like digging in the tomb because it is interesting.   There is a sense that you do not know what you are going to find next.

Why do you work on an excavation?

To get experience in digging, and to travel.

What is the coolest artifact that you have found?

A roof-tile in Crete because it helped us to figure out the date of the building.

What is the least old artifact that you have found?

Part of a frappe (Greek coffee) cup that belonged to a tomb robber.

What got you interested in archaeology?

Indiana Jones and an interest in history.
