Printing with iPrint (Linux)
Note: These instructions have been detailed using Mozilla Firefox on a standard BMC Fedora 7 install.

iPrint printer installations are available from Web pages hosted on the Novell Netware servers. Use the appropriate URL as follows:


IS and Library/Lab Public printers: http://is.brynmawr.edu/ipp
Administrative Offices: http://admins.brynmawr.edu/ipp
Academic Departments: http://acads.brynmawr.edu/ipp

Installing the iPrint Client

There is no need for users to install the iPrint client (rpm -q novell-iprint-xclient-sl should give the version installed on the machine.)

Adding iPrint Printers

1. From the iPrint printer list of your choice:

IS and Library/Lab Public printers: http://is.brynmawr.edu/ipp
Administrative Offices: http://admins.brynmawr.edu/ipp
Academic Departments: http://acads.brynmawr.edu/ipp

2. Click the link (listed down the left side of the page) for the printer you would like to install. You will see the following prompt:

3. If this is to be the workstation's primary printer, click "Set Printer as Default" (This can be changed in individual user's preferences, see below) Click OK.


4. You will be prompted for the username and password used to log into the workstation you are installing the printer on.

5. You will then see the following dialog:

Click OK. The printer will now appear along with any other printers you may have installed when you print from applications such as Open Office, Firefox, etc.


Note: To look at your complete list of printers, go to System -> Preferences -> Hardware -> Default Printer. Here you can choose your Default.

6. Return to the Web page to add additional printers.
