The Bryn Mawr College computer network and servers are designed to support the academic, research, and business functions of the College. To that end, individuals may receive various service accounts. Use of all Bryn Mawr College accounts and technology resources are subject to the College’s Acceptable Use Policy.
Your College username and password can give you access to the following. The exact privileges provided to you are dependent upon your role at the College.
These are the common accounts. Other accounts and types of access are available by specific request on a more limited basis.
Obtaining an Account:
In order to receive any account, one must be an employee, student, or affiliate of the College. When you become associated with the College, your College username and password are created automatically. The privileges associated with your College username and password are determined by the type of role you will be fulfilling. Some accounts require the approval of an authorized supervisor or department liaison. See the chart below for an explanation of roles and the accounts to which they are entitled.

Closing of Accounts
Accounts may be closed under two circumstances: abuse of access as determined by the Acceptable Use Policy, or departure from the College.
Departure from the College is defined as graduation or withdrawal from enrollment for students, termination of employment for employees, or expiration of affiliate status for affiliates. The College reserves the right to close accounts immediately after departure. In most circumstances access will be maintained for 30 days to everything except Virtual Bryn Mawr security. Once the 30 day period has passed, we will not be able to provide you with any access or files, including those stored in e-mail, on network file storage, in the LMS, etc.
Students on leave may or may not retain accounts depending upon the type of leave, and Dean determinations.
