Report a printing charge received in error

As of Fall semester 2011, public printing incurs a charge of 5¢ for every page printed to a black and white printer, or 50¢ for every page printed to a color printer. Students are given a grace period of 1200 black and white pages ($60.00), and charges to a student's account will only begin once this allotted number of pages has been exceeded. If you have questions, please see our Printing FAQ.

If you have been charged for pages you do not believe you printed, or you are concerned about being charged for printouts which were damaged due to a printer jam or other printer issue, please provide the following information:

  • Your Name
  • Your College username (the first part of your Bryn Mawr e-mail address)
  • Where you were printing (i.e. Canday Library Pool A, Collier Lab, etc.)
  • When you were printing (best approximation of date and time)
  • Number of pages reported in error
  • Whether you were using your own computer or a College computer.  Please add the BMC Computer ID# XX-XXXX (usually a green sticker on the front of the CPU), or
  • Computer Type and Model # if available.
  • The reason you are disputing the charge (i.e., printer jammed and damaged print job, I did not print this file, etc.

Send the information to help@brynmawr.edu or use the form at Report a Problem.

Charges will not be reversed for the following:

  • Releasing a print job too many times or to multiple places.
  • Mistyping number of prints.
  • Accidentally printing double-sided (or single-sided).
  • Printing a black and white document to the color printer.

Please note that printing charge disputes, though accepted, are reviewed up to once a month, sometimes longer. Because of the grace pages given to student accounts, charges must prove to be an extenuating circumstance to be considered.
