Special Education Consulation
Caregivers can meet with an experienced licensed, school-certified psychologist who can help them translate assessment findings into educational plans that will address their children’s needs. Services provided include:
- observing the child in school and consulting with her/his teachers
- reviewing Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and Section 504/Chapter 15 Service Agreements
- determining whether IEPs or Service Plans are being implemented appropriately
- using a battery of tests, if necessary, to answer specific questions about the child’s functioning
- accompanying parents to Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and IEP meetings, mediations, or resolution meetings to help them effectively articulate their goals for their child and build cooperative relationships with school personnel
