Technique, Performance, and choreography courses are housed primarily in Pem studio.
Renovated in 2001 to it's original Victorian beauty, the double-storied, multi-window studio
was also outfitted with lighting and sound equipment to enable us to use it for studio
performances as well as classes. Some classes, such as African, which utilizes live
drummers or flamenco and tap, which use shoes that could damage the wooden studio floor,
are scheduled for the studio space in the Gymnasium. Two courses per year, generally
entry level courses, are scheduled in Ryan Gymnasium at Haverford. Buses travel the
mile distance between Bryn Mawr and Haverford three times each hour. Performances are
held on Goodhart main stage or in Pem studio. We use Pem, Goodhart music room, and
the gym studio for rehearsal spaces and there are a small space and a planned larger
space(in the new athletic facility/2005) at Haverford that can be reserved for
rehearsal time as well.
