In 2005, the program received a gift from BMCalum, Edith Aviles de Kostes, that enabled us to support, in part or fully, attendance by 2-3 students at summer dance intensive programs. Ms. Aviles has renewed her gift, enabling us to continue this summer program. Students have studied at ADF, ABT, Jacob's Pillow, Pro Danza, Bill T. Jones Summer intensive, Urban Bush Women Summer Institute, Axis Dance Company's integrated abilities program, David Parsons Summer Dance, Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, The Hip Hop Conservatory of NYC, and the Paul Taylor Summer Intensive.
Additional summer BMC grant programs have enabled our students to do summer internships and other creative projects as well.
