When a Student is Arrested

In the unlikely event that local law enforcement authorities arrest a Bryn Mawr student, the College will not intervene as a result of his/her status as a student. The College also will not post or make arrangements for bail or provide legal counsel to the student.

However, a member of the Dean’s Office staff will meet with the student once she has been released to provide assistance, when feasible and appropriate. In exceptional circumstances, a Dean’s Office staff person will visit the student in jail (although in the majority of cases, the student will have been released before a visit can be arranged).
