BRYN MAWR COLLEGE PREREGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR FALL 2012
Monday, April 2 - Friday, April 13
ON-LINE PREREGISTRATION opens Monday, April 2 at 7:00 a.m. and closes Friday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m. In fairness to all involved, we expect you to preregister for all the courses you intend to take, including courses that have no limits and those in which you have been guaranteed a spot. You may preregister for 4.5 units. If you wish to take 5 units, you may add a fifth course in the fall. Students who do not preregister will be fined $15 and lose eligibility for lotteries. Specific registration instructions, including information about registering for courses offered at Swarthmore or at Penn, will be provided by the Registrar later this month.
FALL COURSES WILL APPEAR IN TRI-CO COURSE GUIDE on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Consult it, in addition to Virtual Bryn Mawr, especially for Haverford courses. You can use it to search for times, days, keywords, etc. And changes to Haverford offerings often show up in the Tri-Co Course Guide before appearing in Virtual Bryn Mawr.
ADVISING:
First-year students who have been assigned a faculty adviser must meet with their advisers to discuss their plans and review their progress towards the degree. Please contact your adviser to set up a meeting. Bring hard copies of your unofficial transcript and your fall 2012 courses (“My Class Schedule”) to your meeting. Your adviser’s signature on “My Class Schedule” will signify that your adviser has approved your program. Submit the signed schedule to the Dean’s Office no later than Friday, April 13.
First-year students who have NOT been assigned a faculty adviser must meet with their deans instead. Please call the Dean’s Office at 610-526-5375 to schedule an appointment.
All sophomores and juniors must meet with their major advisers during preregistration to discuss plans for the fall semester. Bring with you hard copies of your unofficial transcript and your fall 2012 courses (“My Class Schedule”). Your adviser’s signature on “My Class Schedule” will signify that your adviser has approved your program. Submit the signed schedule to the Dean’s Office no later than Friday, April 13. As you plan for next fall, please keep in mind that all Divisional, Quantitative, Foreign Language, and Physical Education Requirements must be completed before the beginning of the senior year. If you have questions about meeting those requirements or do not intend to be enrolled at Bryn Mawr College in the fall, please see your dean.
STUDY ABROAD: If you have been granted permission by the Foreign Studies Committee to study abroad during the fall of 2012, you will not preregister. Complete all paperwork with the Office of International Programs instead.
LOTTERIES for limited enrollment classes at Bryn Mawr and Haverford will be based on preregistration. Results will be announced before the fall semester begins.
REGISTRATION for PHYSICAL EDUCATION opens on September 4.
FINAL ACADEMIC REGISTRATION takes place from September 4 through September 12. More information about specific procedures will be available closer to that date.
WALK-IN HOURS for DEANS for brief (5-minute) consultations. For longer conversations, call x5375 for an appointment.
