Preregistration and Limited Enrollment Classes

Near the end of each semester [see the Academic Calendar for exact dates], all Bryn Mawr students preregister for the next semester's courses. Course offerings for each semester are published on the Tri-Co Course Guide. Students preregister for Bryn Mawr and Haverford courses through the Virtual Registrar's Office (VRO or "Virtual Bryn Mawr") and are encouraged to consult with their dean. Once a student has selected a major, she must consult with her major adviser before preregistration. Failure to preregister on time results in a $15 fine.

Preregistration represents a student's best thinking about what she plans to take in the next semester. Lotteries for admission to limited enrollment courses are generally conducted between the end of preregistration and the beginning of the subsequent semester.  Students who have been lotteried out of courses will have the chance to  go back into VRO and preregister for courses that still have openings.

Haverford's lottery procedures may differ slightly from Bryn Mawr's; see the Haverford registrar's website for details.

Students on leave from the College may not be able to preregister online and should contact their deans for instructions on how to proceed.
