After Lotteries

Students will be notified by the Registrar’s Office and/or Dean’s Office when lottery results are available on the Registrar’s Office websites at Bryn Mawr and Haverford.  Students should review results and note whether they have been “lotteried out” of any of their classes. Please keep in mind that the lotteries are not linked to your Virtual Bryn Mawr account and, as a result, Virtual Bryn Mawr will rarely reflect the fact that you’ve been lotteried out of a course.  For any course with an enrollment limit, whether or not a lottery has been conducted, attendance at the first class session is necessary to hold your place.

If you discover that you have been lotteried out of any courses at Bryn Mawr or Haverford, start thinking about others to take instead.  Consult the “Class Status Report” to identify courses that still have room following preregistration.  Although you will not be able to register for alternatives at this time, having a good plan for the first week of the semester should allow you to get settled in an appropriate schedule by the time you confirm your registration in the second week.   Please consult your dean or adviser if you have any questions or concerns.

Some classes will have a waitlist.  If you are near a top of the waitlist, you may well still get a seat in the class.  You are encouraged to attend the first day, but also to find an alternative to attend in case no seat opens up.
