Shopping Period & Dropping a Course

The first week of each semester is a "shopping period" in which students may attend a variety of courses before finalizing their schedules. Students must attend the first meeting of any limited enrollment course in order to secure the spot awarded through the lottery. In the absence of lotteries, students themselves are making decisions about which courses they want to enroll in. As they make those decisions, they add and drop the relevant courses from their online registration via Virtual Bryn Mawr .

Students may also drop a fifth course any time up until the end of the third week of class. Virtual Bryn Mawr will not permit such changes after Confirmation of Registration.  Students should come to the Main Dean's Office on the second floor of Taylor where they can fill out a "Fifth Course Drop Form" for their dean to review and sign.

The Deans are available during shopping period to help students who are having difficulties putting together a schedule.
