Academic Year Funding

The Undergraduate Dean's Office provides small awards of up to $450 to students seeking support for faculty-mentored research, a scholarly project, or academic conference travel. These awards can be used at any time during the academic year, in the summer, or over breaks.


Awards are open to all undergraduates who are (i) enrolled at the college at the time of application, and (ii) enrolled during the period when the research, project, or conference travel will take place (or in the case of a summer project or conference, in the following fall semester).  Haverford students majoring at Bryn Mawr are eligible for Dean's Office academic year funding.

**Payment Information:  Fellowship payments occur on a monthly basis. Click here to consult the Fellowship Monthly Payment Schedule for your planning purposes. Factor in at least 2 weeks for the Dean's Office to review your completed application. **

**Non-resident Aliens: Dean's Office funding awards, which are processed as fellowships, are considered taxable income. Nonresident aliens receiving fellowships that apply to activities that take place in the United States, scholarships, and/or grants in excess of tuition and fees will be required to pay U.S. federal income tax. The tax will appear on the student’s monthly statement of account by November for the fall semester and on the April statement for the spring semester. A student may be eligible for a refund the following tax year after filing a U.S. federal return.
