Bryn Mawr's undergraduate student body is composed of women from all over the U.S. and from more than forty countries. Among the members of the Bryn Mawr undergraduate student body are the Katharine E. McBride Scholars, women beyond traditional college age seeking their undergraduate degree at Bryn Mawr; they range in age from the mid-20's to the late-70's. Most McBride Scholars enter Bryn Mawr as transfer students; most commute - some from quite a distance - although some live on campus, usually in Glenmede Carriage House.
Besides those students who embarked upon the Bryn Mawr undergraduate degree program, several other types of students enroll in Bryn Mawr courses:
Students from Haverford, Swarthmore, and Penn: Just as Bryn Mawr students may take classes on these campuses, so their students may take classes at Bryn Mawr.
Graduate students: Students from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research will occasionally enroll in undergraduate courses at the College. Both graduate schools are co-educational.
Post-baccalaureate students: These are college graduates (who occasionally also have advanced or professional degrees) enrolled in a one-year full-time course of study to complete requirements for medical school. This is also a co-educational program.
Guest students: Bryn Mawr participates in exchange programs with three overseas universities: Tsuda and Keio in Japan, and Sciences Po in France. The exchange students are always female.
Continuing Education students: Qualified men and women in the community, as well as qualified high school students, may enroll in up to two courses per semester. Bryn Mawr Staff members may also enroll in courses through the Continuing Education program.
