Shopping Period & Dropping a Course

The first week of each semester is a "shopping period" in which students may attend a variety of courses before finalizing their schedules. Students must attend the first meeting of any limited enrollment course in order to be entered into the lottery (or, at Haverford, in order to secure the spot awarded through the lottery). Students "lotteried out" of courses must still drop themselves from the course online via the Virtual Registrar's Office. In the absence of lotteries, students themselves are making decisions about which courses they want to enroll in. As they make those decisions, they add and drop the relevant courses from their online registration via the VRO.

The Deans are available during shopping period to help students who are having difficulties putting together a schedule.
