Spring 2015 Semester Sophomore Conversations

Creating Connections
Friday, April 24 | 2:00-4:00PM | Campus Center Room 200

Register here:

Connection: Establishing authentic purposeful relationships and collaborate with others. We are excited to offer a training session for sophomores on how to conduct informational interviews and connect with alumnae. Practice having conversations and create your elevator pitch. Learn tips and tricks for using LinkedIn as a way to explore interest areas and pathways and to connect to thousands of Bryn Mawr alumnae/i. Establishing connections with alumnae gives you access to people who can share advice, information, ideas, suggestions, and tips as you explore your career path.

A story from an Alumna about what she learned in terms of the connection competency: "I've learned that my fear of failure, of embarrassment, of losing control has prevented me from learning from others, meeting interesting people and losing opportunities. Although I'm still working on it, I've tried to shift my focus away from my fear to making the other person comfortable, seeking out different opinions and connection with people around commonalities."
