Secondary Teacher Certification in Mathematics

Open to mathematics majors. Students must also meet the following requirements:
- • Take a course in probability (one of the following: BMC 104/205 or HC 103/116/218).
- • Have some experience in teaching undergraduates in introductory courses as tutors/mentors, workshop assistants, or TAs (e.g., H460f and i, “Teaching Assistantship in Mathematics”).
We also recommend:
- • A semester of discrete mathematics.
- • A semester of computer science (such as HC 222a, “Introduction to Scientific Computing”).
• EDUC 220, “Changing Pedagogies in Mathematics and Science.”
