Application Process for Staff

Prior to the beginning of the semester, information about ELP and EW3 will be shared with Housekeeping and Dining Services Staff. Applications will be distributed for submission to department heads or ELP staff. Directors of departments will also share ELP and EW3 participation requests with ELP Staff. In the event that the number of applicants exceeds available places in the programs, we will create a waiting list for the next semester.

Application Process for Students

Students may apply to participate in an ELP partnership as members of the Empowering Learners course (or in some cases as a praxis placement for another education course) or as members of the Bryn Mawr community. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to and capacity for working well in educational environments, with adult learners, or in other community empowerment projects.

Students may obtain an application from Alice Lesnick (alesnick@brynmawr.edu, x7944) or Amanda Root (aroot@brynmawr.edu).

A Note for All Potential Participants

Each participant will attend an orientation session and will meet as needed with ELP staff who will coordinate and guide partnerships. ELP partnerships will meet a minimum of 4 sessions (a maximum of 14 sessions). The program will run the length of each semester. All partners will be asked to keep a weekly log of their activities and reflections.
