Anne Dalke

Stranger in a Strange Land: Grokking in Latin America: Anne Dalke's blog as she travels during her sabbatical, Fall 2006

Anne Dalke's collection of Bryn Mawr teaching stories, Teaching to Learn/Learning to Teach: Meditations on the Classroom,  was published in Peter Lang's Education and Spirituality series (2002).

The collection of Quaker teaching stories she co-edited with Barbara Dixson, Minding the Light: Essays in Friendly Pedagogy, was published in the same series in 2004. Anne's research interests include emergent pedagogies, feminist theory and narrative traditions, revisionary work in the canon of American literatures, and the intersections between science and literature. Anne facilitates a number of outreach initiatives, including one of the Bryn Mawr Summer Institutes for K-12 Teachers, on Science and a Sense of Place: Locating Ourselves in the World . She also serves on the Faculty Steering Committee for the Center for Science in Society, for which she has organized a number of initiatives and facilitated several working groups. She participates in Quaker initiatives both in the area and nationally, including Friends' Association for Higher Education.
