2014 Summer To-Do List

Dear Class of 2018, Transfer, McBride, and Guest Students:

Below you will find a to-do list of the various tasks you’ll need to complete over the summer to prepare for the start of your Bryn Mawr career.  You will be receiving more detailed information and instructions about these tasks throughout the summer via our Tuesday Newsletter, which you will receive through your new Bryn Mawr email address, so if you haven’t yet set that up, please do so now and check it regularly!  You will also find lots of important information on the Entering Students’ website: http://www.brynmawr.edu/enteringstudents

The following tasks are required of EVERY student:

Register for Moodle Moodle is used for on-line access to course materials, quizzes, discussion boards, and grades.  You’ll be using it a lot over the next few years, so go ahead and register your account. June 3 July 1 Moodle login

Register with Access Services Students with physical, medical, psychological and/or learning challenges who have received accommodations in the past and feel they may need them while here at Bryn Mawr. Anytime, but we suggest you do so as early as possible. No specific time line, but it's helpful to be proactive and request support earlier rather than later. Contact Access Services Coordinator Deb Alder: dalder@brynmawr.edu or 610-526-7351. Make an appointment to meet with her and discuss your eligibility for receiving accommodations at Bryn Mawr.
Placement exams in French, German, Italian and Spanish* Students who have prior experience with these languages and want to continue studying them.  If you are starting a brand new language, you do not need a placement exam. June 3 July 1

* Please note that other languages not mentioned here (Russian, Latin, Greek, and Arabic) do not have written placement exams, but will require an in-person conversation with a professor of that language at the Academic Fair on Thursday, August 28th.

Student Computer Account and Password Reminder

Students who have difficulty with their @brynmawr.edu email, Bionic, or Moodle accounts, or with their passwords, should contact the Information Services Help Desk via email at help@brynmawr.edu, by telephone at (610) 526-7440, or online at their website at http://www.brynmawr.edu/computing/.  The Help Desk is open Monday through Friday from 9am-12pm and 1-5pm.
