Marine Science Research-Oregon State University

This summer, Oregon State University will offer 20 students from all over the U.S. the opportunity to work with faculty mentors on research projects that advance knowledge and understanding of marine, coastal and estuarine environments.

The Research Experience for Undergraduates program runs from June to August , 2009 (specific dates tbd) at the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) in Newport and at the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences in Corvallis.

Morris Arboretum Internship Program (University of Pennsylvania)

In the early 1900's, John and Lydia Morris clearly envisioned that one day their estate, Compton, would become a world-class educational institution. Today, John and Lydia Morris would no doubt be proud of the many great interns who have studied here over the years, and how they are continuing the Morrises' legacy today. This year-long, paid internship program starts in mid-June and focuses on providing practical training as well as the development of a wide range of management skills. Graduates of the program have gone on to administrative careers in the horticulture industry and in botanic gardens, arboreta, and government as well as positions in research, education, and extension service.

CDC invites qualified applicants to apply for a ten week summer program in Environmental Public Health at the National Center for Environmental Health /Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR) in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a full time summer opportunity for rising collegiate juniors and seniors to get real-world experience in Environmental Public Health activities at the federal level. Students will participate in individual projects and will be paired with mentors in order to gain valuable experience in the fascinating field of Environmental Public Health.
