“Environmental Activism and Leadership: Energy Sustainability”
Praxis course, earning academic credit while gaining the skills to be influential environmental leaders!
Whether you’re looking for a topic for your Environmental Studies Senior Seminar, are an extracurricular environmental advocate, or you just want to help make a difference in the world, you can be a part of one of the most exciting projects underway on Bryn Mawr’s campus right now. Current students are working in collaboration with alumna expert in the alternative fuels and vehicles fields, Joanna Underwood ’62 (founder and president of Energy Vision), in order to change the dynamics and the infrastructure of our nation’s energy sector. A student-initiated move to using alternative fuels, notably natural gas, in transportation will change our political landscape and require business and political leaders to rethink their priorities. Our goal: to achieve a 100% sustainable cycle of energy use. This project requires the involvement of students across many disciplines. Bring your dedication, diligence, and passion for change! Want to know how you can get involved? For general information about the project, the academic class that will be offered in Spring 2008 and how you can get involved right now, contact: 484-357-3627 You can also attend information sessions about the Spring 2008 course at the Praxis Office on Cambrian Row. Look for e-mails about the dates and times of these sessions. Everyone is welcome: attendance does not signify any commitment to taking the course. To get more background on the research and development that led to the implementation of this project, attend an upcoming lecture given by Joanna Underwood on Bryn Mawr campus. Look for e-mails and flyers on dates and times of these events. Visit Energy Vision’s website for further information and reading materials!
