Blackboard
Blackboard is a course managment system supported by Bryn Mawr. It is one way that professors can put their courses online. In Blackboard, professors may keep course documents, use online discussions, maintain a gradebook, administer tests and surveys and much more. Blackboard courses provide students with 24/7 access to their course materials and an easy way for students to communicate with other students in the course or the professor.
How Blackboard Works at Bryn Mawr
Blackboard is actually a Tri-College venture between Swarthmore, Haverford and Bryn Mawr. The server that runs Blackboard for all three campuses is physically located at Swarthmore. To access Blackboard, faculty and students must visit the Blackboard log in page, located at http://blackboard.brynmawr.edu.
All Bryn Mawr faculty and students Blackboard usernames are the e-mail username with "bmc." appended to the front to ensure unique identities among the three campuses (for example, my Blackboard username is bmc.lblanken). To log in for the first time, new students and faculty must set their password. Click here to reset your password.
