SMDI 2008

New Format

For faculty sponsors: This year, we are experimenting with a new format for both the projects and the schedule of SMDI. First, we are focusing this year on ehancing technology-related teaching and research; therefore, all projects must be related to a course or research project. Second, we are breaking up the 10 week session into two 4-week sessions. The first is June 9-July 3. The second is from July 14-August 8. An information session will be held on February 12 from 4-5 in Dalton 25. More detailed information about the changes can be found here. Project proposals are due March 7, 2008. Please send to Laura Blankenship, Guild Hall. (Download proposal form, pdf).

For student applicants: The Summer Multimedia Development Institute hopes to hire a number of students to work with faculty during the summer on a variety of technical projects. No technical skills are necessary to apply. An interest in learning new things, curiosity about new technologies, and an interest in how technology can enhance education are especially valuable. Applications are due March 7, 2008. Please send to Laura Blankenship, Guild Hall. (Download application, pdf).
