Service Requests

FACULTY & STAFF

Work Order requests that are non-urgent in nature should be requested via your Building Advocate if you are in an academic or administrative building.

STUDENTS & RESIDENTS

Submit a service request form.

Generally, requests for maintenance and repairs take precedence over requests for alterations and improvements. Urgent requests (i.e., issues involving personal safety, security or loss of or damage to facilities or property) should be phoned into the Call Center at x7930 during normal business hours (7 a.m. - 5 p.m.). If an urgent request occurs during off hours, contact Public Safety at x7911. Public Safety will notify the 24-hour, on-call mechanic, if necessary.

RESPONSE TIME

The following types of calls are dispatched immediately by radio:

  • Emergencies
  • Heating/Air Conditioning-related calls
  • Alarms
  • Major leaks
  • Lock-outs
  • Ice/Snow Removal

Work order requests are reviewed by Shop Heads within 24 hours of the request. The average response time for work requests are as follows:

  • Emergency: Working hours, 30 minutes; Off hours and weekends, 2 hours
  • Urgent: Same-day response/dispatched by radio
  • Routine: Average response not more than 1 week
