  1.  Jan 23-25. Go to http://www.engr.ncsu.edu/learningstyles/ilsweb.html , fill out the form, and bring it to class Monday, Jan 26.

  1. Jan 30-Feb 1.  Go to http://oceanworld.tamu.edu/students/weather/weather_quiz.htm , answer the questions and then check yourself.  Is there something you are not “getting”?  If so bring questions to class Monday.
  2. Feb. 2-6  This exercise aims to give you an idea about sea level change.  Think about how this might affect the distribution of sedimentary environments.
  3. Feb. 9-15 – This exercise is designed to give you a feeling for the probability of equally possible events, in this case the number of coins in a toss that end up as heads.  The exercise serves as a model for radioactive decay used in dating.
  4. Feb 16-20 – There are two things to play with this weekend.  One is a cladistics game.  The other is – come up with a mnemonic to help you remember the geological periods.  Prizes will be awarded for the best!!
