Magnetic Measurements Pulse Magnetizer –
This machine is designed to give a short duration high magnetic field pulse to a rock sample. The intensity of the pulse is adjustable from weak fields up to 9.0 Tesla (90,000 Gauss) with a 7.0 millisecond pulse duration. Exposing rock samples to different magnetic fields in different orientations and then measuring the subsequent strength and direction of the magnetic field carried by the sample allows paleomagnetists to infer the samples magnetic mineralogy.
