Research and Teaching Interests: Modern and contemporary German and Austrian literature, Romanticism, literary theory, media aesthetics, and literature and music.
Publications: Dr. Schönherr is the author of Das Unendliche Altern der Moderne. Untersuchungen zur Romantrilogie Gert Jonkes (Vienna: Passagen Verlag, 1994), and he has published numerous scholarly articles on writers such as Kafka, Adorno, E.T.A. Hoffmann, Gert Jonke, Marcel Beyer, and Peter Handke. At present, he is working on a new book tentatively entitled Hearing-Writing-Silence: Musico-Acoustic Imaginations in Contemporary German-Austrian Literature.
