Rosalie C. Hoyt MA '41, PhD '45, Marion Reilly Professor Emeritus of Physics, was a pioneer. Professor Emeritus of Physics, Al Albano notes, "When she was earning her master's and doctoral degrees, there was no biophysics program, so she invented one for herself." Her lifelong commitment to Bryn Mawr is reflected in her bequest of $750,000 for the general purposes of the College.
