"Bryn Mawr College answered questions that I didn’t even know I had."
"The friendships I formed and the challenges I overcame continue to sustain me." President of the Alumnae Association Caroline Willis has volunteered countless hours of her time to Bryn Mawr, starting as an Admissions Representative in New Orleans in 1969. During the Challenging Women Campaign, Caroline established an endowed scholarship in honor of her late father William H. Willis, Professor Emeritus of Greek at Duke University. "My father encouraged me to apply to Bryn Mawr so that I might study with his classics colleagues Mabel Lang PhD ’43, Richmond Lattimore, Machteld Mellink, Bruni Ridgway PhD ’58 and Nan Michels ’30, PhD ’34." In recognition of her family's Southern roots and the academic interests that Caroline, a Greek major, shared with her father, the scholarship will be awarded with preference to students from the Southern states or to those majoring in classics.
