NIH PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR ASSURANCE DOCUMENT
A new policy at the
National Institutes of Health (NIH) (http://www.nih.gov) replaces the need for
the signatures of the Principal Investigator(s) on grant applications, progress
reports and prior approval requests with a written assurance signed by the PI
for each document that is retained among the records of Bryn Mawr College (see http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-06-054.html) The retention of these
signed assurances is a requirement by the College and the assurances must be
available to the sponsoring agency or other authorized HHS or Federal officials
upon request. This process applies to grant applications, each progress report
for a particular grant and each prior approval request.
• When multiple PIs are proposed in an application, this assurance
must be retained for all named PIs.
• This change is effective with competing applications submitted
for submission/receipt dates May 10, 2006 and thereafter.
Because you are the PI or co-PI on a grant application or grant
award to which this standard is applicable, you are required to make the
following certification.
