GRANTS BULLETIN

VOL. 5  NO. 52  JUNE - august 2008

TIMELINESS OF FEDERAL REPORTS

For the second year in a row the auditors have found that some faculty are not submitting their federal reports in a timely fashion.  All federal contracts have report due dates (usually annually by the anniversary date of the budget period).  Those reporting requirements are listed under comments on the budgets issued by the Bryn Mawr grants office as well as in the letter of award from the funding agent.  Faculty holding federal grants are responsible for complying with the federal regulations associated with their grants.  Noncompliance means that we will be cited for the failure and will undergo another intensive audit the following year.  These intensive audits require an extraordinary amount of work by the grants and controller’s offices.  Noncompliance might also affect the institution’s, and therefore the faculty’s, ability to seek and get grants from federal agencies.  Please try to complete and submit your federally required reports on time in accordance with the regulations of the agency from which you have received funding.
