Erica Cho teaches Video Production in the Department of History of Art. Her interests and practice include: video art, narrative film, experimental documentary, queer-trans media, issues in Korean diaspora, Asian American identity, transnational feminism, animation, zines & comix. Her work has shown at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Japanese American National Musuem, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and at film festivals worldwide. Her experimental stop-motion animation Our Cosmos Our Chaos currently tours North America and South Korea as part of Still Present Pasts, a multi-disciplinary exhibition on the legacy of the Korean War. She received her MFA in Studio Art from University of California at Irvine, was honored as one of Out Magazine’s Out100 for her remarkable contributions to LGBTQ culture, and has received awards from The Leeway Foundation, Creative Capital, The Third Wave Foundation, and the California Community Foundation. Cho was also honored as the Robert Motherwell endowed visual art residency fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
