The Health Center hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. A Registered Nurse is available on-site 24 hours a day during the week and 9am to 3pm on weekends when school is in sessions for urgent problems. A physician and a counselor are on-call 24/7 for emergencies. Medical, gyn, and counseling appointments and services are available Monday through Friday during the daytime. See below for details. Monday mornings are "Walk-in" times - no appointments.
Same-day appointments are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please call in the morning on the day you want an appointment, between 9 am and 12 noon, to make a same-day appointment. Walk-ins with urgent problems will also be accepted, however those with appointments will have priority (except, as always, in the case of a true emergency).

The Gyn Nurse Practitioner provides:
Individual counseling services are made by appointment - call x7360 between the hours of 9am-4pm. There is a $20.00 charge for counseling appointments cancelled less than 24 hours of the respective scheduled appointment.
Each undergraduate student can receive up to six free sessions. The six free sessions will be used for assessment, treatment planning and appropriate referral if indicated. A student will be billed for any sessions beyond six. She will receive an insurance ready receipt which can be submitted to her private insurance for possible reimbursement. We do not directly participate with any insurance programs. Any bills not paid within 30 days will be transferred to the Comptroller's office as a "Health Center Charge". Suggestions for Using Your Insurance for Therapy Sessions Students without insurance will be billed for future sessions beyond the sixth. All graduates and Post Bacs can receive a free initial consultation with a counselor for appropriate referral to community providers.
In cases of financial hardship, the fee for counseling may be reduced. No student is ever denied service because she can not afford payment.
All counselors specialize in issues of young adults, including eating disorders,sexuality, cultural, racial, gender identity concerns, and relationship problems, as well as general counseling services.
Inpatient care is provided at the Health Center for students too ill to be in the dorm, but not a candidate for inpatient hospital care. There is a charge for this service of $100 a night, which may be covered by the family insurance.
Sleeper Policy: Bryn Mawr College students may use the Health Center as a quiet place to rest for $15 a night if a room is available. This fee does not include meals or nursing care.

ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A COMPLETED PHYSICAL EXAM FORM ON FILE AT THE HEALTH CENTER TO RECEIVE SERVICES.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Except in the case of a life-threatening emergency, the Health Center will not release information to anyone including parents, family, police, employers, faculty or administrators, unless the student provides consent.
The following services are available free of charge to all matriculated undergraduate students enrolled in the college health plan:

Charged services include:
No student will be denied needed health care or counseling because of an inability to pay.
The student health insurance will pay some portion of the fees charged by physicians outside the Health Center when the student is referred by the Health Center caregivers. Routine health care (dental or vision check-ups, etc.) or elective visits to a specialist (e.g. for acne or allergy testing) are generally not covered by the BMC student health insurance.
