Requirements for course work in math and upper level science

The core science requirements for admission to schools of medicine and dentistry are two semesters with laboratory of general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and introductory biology. Throughout the United States there are several medical and dental schools whose admissions requirements include the completion of additional science and/or math courses. Other professional schools, however, "strongly recommend" that applicants complete specific advanced science courses prior to matriculation. For admission to veterinary school, applicants generally must take several science courses in addition to the basics core science courses. Summaries of the advanced science requirements for admission to medical, dental, and veterinary school are included in the .pdf files below. Review the course information and discuss your academic planning with the health professions advisor.
