Jane Eisner is the vice president for national programs and initiatives at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. She joined the center in 2006 and assumed responsibility for its flagship Liberty Medal and Constitution Day programs and events. She is also spearheading new initiatives to engage Americans in ongoing constitutional issues and values.
Prior to joining the center, Eisner was City Hall bureau chief, a foreign correspondent, editorial page editor and a nationally syndicated columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer . She is also the author of Taking Back the Vote: Getting American Youth Involved in Our Democracy . Eisner is also active in the community, serving as past president of the Pennsylvania Women's Forum, trustee and secretary of The Philadelphia Award, and a mentor for Philadelphia Futures, among other roles.
Eisner is a graduate of Wesleyan University, and she received her master's degree from Columbia University's School of Journalism.
