Internship: The Global Fund for Children, Washington, DC

My Hepburn internship with the Global Fund for Children was an incredible experience. I was presented with a self-directed project to create a model for exploring possible partnerships for Global Fund for Children Books in international publishing. I focused on children’s books publishing in Africa and at the end of the internship presented recommendations on the best ways that international organizations like GFC can support this industry in Africa. The internship was a great learning experience for me on several levels. Aside from the knowledge I gained about children’s books and publishing, I left GFC with a deep understanding of the non-profit world. My Bryn Mawr experience has been full of such great opportunities as this Hepburn internship. These experiences have played a huge role in shaping my vision for my life and for this I am eternally grateful.
