During my internship I managed a qualitative study assessing the benefits of particular health literacy materials and medication reconciliation forms. I conducted patient interviews, collecting patient opinions about comprehension, usefulness, and presentation of these materials. In addition to managing the study, I also participated in tours of hospitals in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and Yuma, Arizona, two border towns on the US-Mexico border, in an effort to gain insight into the particular challenges of providing health care on the border.
