As an intern for Parent Earth I had a variety of different
responsibilities. I worked closely with the Parent Earth film editor to
learn the basics of the editing program, Final Cut Pro, in the
beginning of the summer. With this knowledge I was able to assistant
edit 3 videos. I wrote blog entries for the Parent Earth website. I
also worked on other aspects of their website, such as uploading videos
and sending out the monthly newsletter. I also spent a large amount of
my internship working on the production of an episode for the weekly
news program “Need to Know” on PBS. I was able to take part in the
pre-production work and research, work on set during the shooting of the
episode, and work on post-production as well.
