During my internship with Our Lady of Lourdes Center for Public Health I was given an opportunity to work in the healthcare environment which included working with doctors, administrators and community health advocates. I was fortunate to have two very different and interesting projects to work on this summer. The first was a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) project which I researched pilot PCMH models around the country, identified funding sources, created presentations and helped plan how this model would benefit the community of Camden as well as Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. The second project was a Hepatitis C screening project which intends to target Egyptian and Pakistani populations. This project also involved research of the topic and working on funding resources but also planning of logistical issues facing screening a large and widespread population.
