Internship: Historical Society of Pennsylvania / Penn Design: PhilaPlace Project

My Hepburn Internship allowed me the opportunity to physically explore and learn about the urban history of southern Philadelphia's Italian Market Area. The PhilaPlace Project gave me the opportunity to work extensively with computer rendering tools I would use as a practicing Urban Planner. In addition to gaining experience working with historical visual resources online, I was able to examine original graphic items at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. The research skills I gained from this internship will definitely help me write my Cities Thesis. I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to work on a project that will help tell the story of an important immigrant area.
