One of the things I love best about the environment here is the amazing women I've met! I really love the friends I've made at Bryn Mawr as well as the opportunity to gain new insights that I never had previous exposure to. As a rising senior, I see and feel the transformation that four years here brought me. Knowing that I speak, think, and act with more conviction and independence shows just how much Bryn Mawr empowers her students; you actively draw from a group of mature, capable women each moment you are here. My interactions have subtly taught me how to greet one's peers and the 'real world' with greater clarity and sensibility as a grown woman. It's a secret well of strength that I know I'll use to bolster myself wherever I aim to go afterward. From my experiences at Bryn Mawr as well as my internship this summer, I've realized how important it is to me that I work with Chinese/Asian American communities after graduation. I feel a personal connection to the people in the urban communities and feel compelled to go back to a neighborhood where my parents grew up in order to improve their health awareness and policies. I hope to do research on Asian American women's health and/or Asian American mental health.
