Internship: Reproductive Health Technologies Project, Washington, DC

Interning at the Reproductive Health Technologies Project was very rewarding, as I had the opportunity to explore the women's health world from the viewpoint of a powerful nonprofit organization. In addition to conducting research, writing memos, and attending briefings on Capitol Hill, I was treated as an insider in the complex world of DC politics, which was especially thrilling this summer because of the presidential election in the fall. Being a student at Bryn Mawr, especially as an English major, prepared me extremely well for this internship. The critical reading, writing, and analysis skills I've developed over the last three years were essential in my success at RHTP. Lessons I've learned outside of the classroom at Bryn Mawr were also invaluable resources I brought with me to the internship, especially the understanding of injustice as multi-dimensional, where racism, classism, and sexism are all inextricably linked. I am extremely lucky to have a Bryn Mawr education as the foundation for my future, and am excited for my next adventure after this wonderful summer experience.
