Election Period November 17, 2008 - December 16, 2008
Benefits-eligible staff and faculty should have - or soon will have - received packets containing their Flexible Spending Open Enrollment materials All election forms must be returned (or online elections made) by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008.
There are no changes to the Flexible Spending plans for 2009. The maximum election for Medical Spending remains $4,500. The maximum for Dependent Spending remains at $5,000.
Please see this memo for general information about Open Enrollment. The plan booklet provides more details about the features of the spending accounts.
Flexible spending elections DO NOT automatically roll over. If you currently participate in either or both of the plans, you are required to affirmatively make new elections for 2009.
When making your election, please account for the fact that eligible expenses are determined by the DATE OF SERVICE, not the date of payment. If you have any concerns about whether a particular expense will be allowed under the IRS rules, please contact Human Resources before submitting your election rather than making assumptions.
You must have worked for the College for a full year as of January 1, 2009 before being eligible to participate in the Medical Spending plan. There is no waiting period to participate in the Dependent Care Spending plan.
We are using PeopleSoft for our online enrollment once again. Navigate through this page. Click the "Sign In" button to open the sign-on screen. You should have received a copy of the instructions in your packet, but you can also download them. Your PeopleSoft password is the same as that for your Bryn Mawr email account.
