28 Hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and insures coverage for Dining Services (business) office during regular business hours to insure phone and front desk coverage.

Handles departmental telephones:  answers general inquiries, routes callers and takes accurate messages.

Types, proofreads and copies general correspondence, reports, and memoranda for the Director, Associate Director and other managerial and professional staff.

Processes departmental time cards for submission to Payroll:

  • reviews and audits employee time cards to ensure the accuracy of the employee identification number, total number of hours submitted, classification of hour type and account assessed
  • updates and maintains summary log for vacation, sick and personnel time utilization and accruals
  • assists employees with questions or problems with their paychecks

Maintains files for all department related activity or business including but not limited to all personnel files.

Responsible for maintenance and filing of department’s employee files including by not limited to: new hire paperwork, performance appraisals, benefit enrollment forms, letters, notices, disciplinary action documents, etc.

Assists in expediting OneCard functions as needed.

Assists Director and Associate Director as needed and requested.

Assists in processing sales of all voluntary various meal plans as well as receives and processes Bryn Mawr Express deposits.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned or directed.

 

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or equivalent experience in a foodservice environment preferred. Two to three years of hospitality, corporate, conference or convention or catering sales experience a plus. 

Must be able to bend over and lift 35+ lbs.

Must be able to reach up and down to grab items from shelves.

Demonstrated ability to accurately type 55 WPM.

Demonstrated ability to utilize a pc and applicable software. (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher)

Knowledge of generally accepted office practices.

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
