Reporting to the Director of College Communications, the Digital Media Editor is responsible for the creation and deployment of editorial content used to promote the College through social media, the College's website, and other digital platforms. The Digital Media Editor creates, develops, and manages content for the College homepage and other important marketing and utility pages; coordinates the distribution of content to various areas of the College's website; and leads the College's social media efforts.
Create, develop, and/or manage content for the Bryn Mawr College homepage, top-level "landing pages," and important marketing pages.
Create, copyedit, and/or proofread editorial content for internal and external communications, including but not limited to, on-campus newsletters, Alumnae bulletin, and web pages.
Work with Constituency Communications, Information Services, and other departments to coordinate the distribution of content to various areas of the College's website.
Lead the development and implementation of the College's social-media strategy, including tracking and reporting on social media outcomes.
Use academic-year editorial calendar, institutional messaging, and integrated marketing calendar to develop and implement strategic social media campaigns.
Working with Constituency Communications and other departments, monitor, coordinate, and enhance social media efforts campus wide.
Supervise and train staff to write and post social media content; supervise "Online Envoy" program of student social media specialists.
Keep current with emerging digital media technologies and strategies through relevant publications and events; propose adoption of new technologies as warranted.
Experienced writer and proofreader; excellent written and oral communications skills and editing and proofreading skills; familiarity with AP style
Facility with digital communications including blogging and social media; familiarity with design tools and content-management software
Experience with leading and supervising a team, including training, staff development, motivating, problem-solving, and holding members accountable to benchmarks
Ability to collaborate with others in and out of the department to solve immediate problems creatively and to develop and meet long-term digital communications goals.
